A Benedictine Farm in Our Own Backyard

Abbey Farms is a Benedictine-operated farm in Aurora, Illinois, which is just an hour away from where we work in Sycamore, IL! They offer fun seasonal experiences for families all year round—but what really caught our eye is all of the delicious specialty foods they have to offer. Experience has taught us that Benedictine monks know how to make uniquely yummy stuff.

In fact, we were surprised to learn that the monks of Marmion Abbey (who run Abbey Farms) were originally transplanted from St. Meinrad Archabbey in Indiana, home of Cedar House fan-favorite Peanut Brother. So, naturally, we trusted that these monks in our own backyard were serving up something just as delectable. And we were super right.

Check out this selection of delicious specialty foods by Abbey Farms! We’re pleased to offer some of their sweet and savory hot sauces, salsas, and queso dips—the loving work of Benedictine monks. Every purchase supports the monks as well as their abbey, farm, and high school!

You can click here to learn more about life at Marmion Abbey. We especially recommend checking them out if you or a loved one is considering a vocation to the monastic life!
