Product Overview
The monks of Saint Joseph’s Abbey were inspired to begin Trappist Preserves in 1954 after a stovetop batch of mint jelly from the Abbey herb garden quickly sold out at the Abbey gift shop. From this humble beginning, Trappist Preserves has grown to be recognized throughout North America as a premier, all-natural brand of preserves, jams, jellies, and conserves. Trappist Preserves products are renowned for superior flavor, vibrant color, consistency of gel, texture, and distribution of fruit in each jar. Their sources are carefully selected to ensure the freshest ingredients. No artificial coloring, flavors or preservatives are ever used in Trappist Preserves!
Work has always been greatly esteemed in the Cistercian tradition, since it gives the monks the opportunity to follow in Christ' footsteps and share in His Divine work of creation and restoration. Every purchase from Trappist Preserves helps to provide for the livelihood of the Monks and for their ability to care for the poor.

ABOUT THE ORDER
St. Joseph's Abbey is a monastery of the Catholic Order of Cistercians of the Strict Observance (O.C.S.O.), popularly known as the "Trappists", located in Spencer, Massachusetts. The Abbey was founded in 1950 by Belgian and French Trappist monks from the Monastery of Our Lady of the Valley in Valley Falls, Rhode Island, which had burned to the ground. In the rustic hills of central New England, they established a new home in which to follow an age-old contemplative way of life.
