The Three Comings of Christ

St. Bernard of Clairvaux encouraged us to embrace the Advent Season leading up to Christmas by meditating upon three “comings of Christ”: not only Christ’s coming as a man 2,000 years ago, but also his coming to us at the end of our life and his desire to come into our hearts each day. 

This book leads the reader along a quiet, insightful, and inspiring Advent journey through reading and meditating upon the key moments of salvation history – from Creation to the birth of Christ – in light of these three comings. In this context, it frames the true meaning of Christmas and prepares the reader for a deeper and more joyful Christmas celebration.
